Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Blackheath
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van Blackheath to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. As a local removals and transport service provider, we recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest standards of human rights, fairness, and ethical conduct in all aspects of our work.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Blackheath has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance stance on all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships. We expect the same standards from all our suppliers, subcontractors, and any third parties who work with or on behalf of our business.
We will not knowingly engage with any organisation or individual involved in practices that exploit people or breach fundamental human rights. Should any credible concerns arise, we will act promptly to investigate and, where necessary, terminate relationships that do not meet our standards.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Blackheath provides removals, transport, and related services to residential and commercial customers. Our primary supply chain includes vehicle and equipment suppliers, fuel providers, storage facilities, and occasional subcontracted labour for peak periods.
Although we operate mainly at a local and regional level, we recognise that modern slavery risks can exist in any supply chain, including within seemingly low-risk sectors. We therefore take a proactive and proportionate approach to identifying and managing those risks.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to comply with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human trafficking and to operate with transparency, fairness, and respect for workers. When selecting or renewing suppliers, we consider their approach to labour practices, health and safety, and ethical conduct.
Man with Van Blackheath is developing and implementing a programme of supplier assessments that may include, where proportionate to the size and risk profile of the supplier, the following measures:
Carrying out due diligence checks on new and high-risk suppliers to confirm their compliance with modern slavery legislation and relevant labour standards. Requesting information about recruitment practices, use of temporary labour, and steps taken to prevent exploitation in their own supply chains. Reserving the right to conduct audits or request evidence of policies, training, and monitoring measures related to modern slavery and human trafficking. Including contractual expectations relating to ethical conduct and modern slavery where agreements are in place.
If a supplier fails to meet our expectations or refuses to address identified concerns, we will consider appropriate action, which may include ending the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all workers, subcontractors, and business partners to report any concerns about modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical conduct connected to our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised verbally with management or through written reports submitted to the appropriate internal contact point, as communicated during onboarding or engagement.
All reports will be treated seriously and, so far as possible, confidentially. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Where a concern appears credible, we will investigate promptly and take appropriate remedial actions, which may include notifying relevant authorities where legally required or appropriate.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that awareness and understanding are essential in preventing modern slavery. Man with Van Blackheath is working to ensure that key personnel involved in recruitment, supplier selection, and management understand the signs of modern slavery and the steps to take if they suspect any form of exploitation.
We aim to embed our zero-tolerance approach into everyday decision making, so that modern slavery considerations form part of how we select suppliers, manage contracts, and organise our work.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and associated practices rests with the management of Man with Van Blackheath. We will monitor the effectiveness of our approach through ongoing review of any concerns raised, supplier responses, and changes in legal or best practice guidance.
This Statement will be reviewed at least once every twelve months, and more frequently if necessary, to reflect any changes in our business operations, the nature of our supply chains, or relevant legislation. Any updates will aim to strengthen our controls, enhance transparency, and support continuous improvement in our efforts to prevent modern slavery.
By maintaining strong standards, clear reporting channels, and regular review, Man with Van Blackheath seeks to ensure that our services are delivered in a way that respects and protects the rights and dignity of every person involved.
